Salvation

Salvation is a gift offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for every believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is our prayer that if you have not encountered the living God through His Son, Jesus Christ, that you will read through these verses from Paul's letter to the church in Rome and make this determination for yourself.

The Roman Road

"There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God." Rom 3:10-11

The prevalent misconception in the world is that there are many good people out there and why would all of them need God.  Certainly the bad people need him, but not me.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Rom 3:23

I must realize that I am a sinner and that my sin separates me from the love God intended for me.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Rom 5:8

The Gospel or good news is the fact that Jesus, the Christ, was willing to die in my place and deal with sin once for all.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 6:23

The sin in my life requires my death.  However, God provided a gift for me, to live with him forever.  The choice to receive the gift is mine.

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Rom 10:9-10

Saying I believe is not enough.  Thinking I believe is not enough.  I must move my head knowledge to my heart and be willing to confess what God did in order to receive salvation.
